After visiting a site titled "Little Angels in Heaven" and spending the majority of the day reading the stories of these innocent children, I was compelled to create this page.  This page consists of 8 stories about the young lives of 9 children.  I picked these children's stories because of how touched I was when I read about the abuse that they had endured in their short lives.  These stories are very graphic, however their stories must be told.  We NEED to put a stop to child abuse.

Just recently, I heard that a family friend had her two young children taken away from her.  I really don't know the details but from what was told to me was that the baby fell and the father rushed his child to the hospital.  Once there, child services was called because a doctor assumed that the baby was suffering from "shaken baby syndrome."  Then the police were called and the baby and 3 year old were taken away from their parents.  The children were kept away from their parents for about a week or less and then returned to their parents.  What makes me mad about this is that, these two children were not abused by their parents nor by anyone else.  They are both loved by everyone and their parents would do anything for their babies.  The doctor that ASSUMED the baby was being abused did not read the baby's medical record.  If he/she had then the knowlege that there were complications during his birth that caused the old bruises, he/she wouldn't have been quick to accuse the parents of abuse.

Now, there are many children out there that are being abuse.  Child Welfare have been called but some how these children are still with their abuser(s).  We hear how children were taken from their parents but then are return because "they" made a mistake.  What is wrong with the system??  Innocent parents have their children taken away from them, whilst the children that are being abused are left in the care of their abuser.  The following stories and many more deaths could have been prevented if we had a better system that had the resources to look into all the reports of child abuse and also do the follow ups and not just file the report away to be forgotten.
