In loving Memory of those we lost on

September 11th, 2001

This page may take a while to load due to graphics

September 11, 2001, will be a day that many would never forget.  It was a day where we were suppose to observe a moment of silence  for World Peace Day.  Instead the world stood in silence and shock as two planes crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center, a plane crashed into the Pentagon, and while another crashed into a field outside Pittsburgh, PA.
We all thought that this was the end of the tragedy, how wrong we were.  In front of our very eyes, we watched  in horror and disbelieve as both towers crumble to the ground.  These terrorists not only killed the innocent passengers of the planes they hijacked and the people in the buildings but also some of New Yorks firefighters and police officers that rushed to save the victims.  This would be a day that we will all remember as the day that brought the whole world to a stand still.  In years to come we would remember those that lost their lives and those that died saving them.
Not only was this an attack on the United States of America but an attack on all those nations that stand beside her. We are all hurting but this attack would only make us stronger and more determine to fight for what we believe in.

The Prayer
Celine Dion

I pray you'll be our eyes,
and watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
in times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer,
when we lose our way
Lead us to the place,
guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe

I pray we'll find your light,
and hold it in our hearts
When stars go out each night,
remind us where you are

Let this be our prayer,
when shadows fill our day
Help us find a place,
guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

A world where pain and sorrow will be ended
And every heart that's broken will be mended
and we'll remember we are all God's children
Reaching out to touch you
Reaching to the sky
We ask that life be kind,
and watch us from above
We hope each soul will find another soul to love
Let this be our prayer,
just like every child
Who needs to find a place,
guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe
Needs to find a place,
guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

The following are graphics and poems that friends have emailed me to express how they felt.  If you have a page that you like me to link to, please email me (mylene@csuh.alumlink.com) your URL.

Their Journey Has Just Begun

Don't think of them as gone away,
their journey has just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
this earth is only one.

Just think of them as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days and years.

Think of how they must be wishing
that we could know, today,
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of them as living
in the hearts of those they touched
for nothing loved is ever lost
and they were loved so much.

"Today will live in infamy!"
That's what they all did say to me,
Those poor lost souls on the TV.
My tears fall on the floor.

I feel the heartache and unrest.
I cringe and think "dear lord, what's next?"
I just can't help feeling depressed.
I turn to face the door.

I hope you all will pray with me.
I hear shouts through all the frenzy.
"This day will live in infamy!"
I shed a tear once more.
